Four things, without switching windows
Save a task with a command
Type /a2m and a title. The task lands in your “New” list. Sort it out later.
Turn a message into a task
On any message choose “Create task”. The text becomes the title. Pick a project, a person and a due date. The description keeps a link to the conversation.
Act on the notification
Every notification has buttons. Complete the task, open it, or move the due date to tomorrow, next week or a day you pick.
Follow a project in a channel
Connect a project to the team's channel. New tasks, reassignments and completions appear there. Nobody has to ask how things are going.

What an ordinary day looks like

The account manager pastes the email into the channel. Someone on the team turns it into a task and assigns it right away.

You get a notification about a task due today. You click “Move: tomorrow” and get back to the conversation.

Setup
Three steps, a few minutes
- An administrator connects the company to Slack under “Integrations”.
- Everyone connects their own account in their profile and chooses what arrives by email and what in Slack.
- The project owner connects a channel and chooses what it should announce.
Privacy
Slack won't show too much
- Private tasks never reach a channel.
- Before connecting a channel you see a warning about who will see task titles.
- A link in a message opens only for people with access to the task.
- Actions from Slack have the same permissions as in the app and go into the task history.
