AI assistants over MCP
Connect Claude Code, Claude or ChatGPT to assign2me over MCP. You sign in with your own account and the assistant works with your permissions.
assign2me has an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so your AI assistant can read and change your tasks: “show my tasks for today”, “create a task in the Website project and assign it to Anna”, “what is waiting on the client?”.
The server address is:
https://api.assign2me.com/mcp
How it works
- You sign in with your own assign2me account. The assistant registers itself and opens the assign2me sign-in page with a consent screen. There are no API keys to copy.
- The assistant sees only what you see. Every call runs as you, with your permissions, exactly as in the app. Other people’s private tasks are never returned. An action you are not allowed to do fails without changing anything.
- One organization at a time. By default the one you used last in the app. Ask the assistant to list your organizations and switch to another one.
- Changes are signed. A change made by an assistant goes into the task history under your name with its source, for example “via MCP (Claude Code)”, and sends the same notifications as a change in the app.
- Destructive tools ask first. Tools that delete or remove are marked as destructive, so the assistant asks you to confirm.
- Limit: 60 calls per minute per user.
Guests cannot connect AI assistants.
Control and revoking access
In Profile and settings you see your connected assistants with the date connected and when they were last used. Disconnect revokes an assistant: its next call is rejected.
An Administrator can switch MCP off for the whole organization in Integrations (Allow AI assistants to use this organization’s data). From the next call, no assistant gets any data of that organization. When a member is deactivated, their assistant loses access to the organization too.
Claude Code
Add the server from the terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http assign2me https://api.assign2me.com/mcp
Add --scope user to have it in all your projects, or --scope project to share it with your team through the project’s .mcp.json file:
{
"mcpServers": {
"assign2me": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.assign2me.com/mcp"
}
}
}
Then run /mcp in Claude Code, choose assign2me and sign in in the browser.
Claude and Claude Desktop (connectors)
The same steps work in Claude on the web and in the Claude Desktop app:
- Open Customize → Connectors.
- Click + and then Add custom connector.
- Paste the server address
https://api.assign2me.com/mcpand click Add. You don’t need the advanced OAuth settings. - Click Connect and sign in with your assign2me account.
- In a chat, click +, choose Connectors and turn assign2me on.
On Team and Enterprise plans an owner first adds the connector in Organization settings → Connectors (Add → Custom → Web, then the address). Members then find it in Customize → Connectors and click Connect.
ChatGPT (connector)
Custom MCP connectors work in ChatGPT on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts, in developer mode:
- Open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. In a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin may need to allow it first.
- Open Plugins in ChatGPT and click + to create an app.
- Enter a name (assign2me), a short description and the server address
https://api.assign2me.com/mcp, with OAuth as the authentication. - Sign in with your assign2me account and review the tools ChatGPT found.
- In a chat, choose Developer mode from the + menu and select assign2me.
ChatGPT asks you to confirm write actions before they run.
